■ Creative Concept：

This creature design was inspired by the interwoven structure and reconstruction of real ecological chains, attempting to break the singular boundary between decomposer and predator. In terms of form, ants serve as the basic structural prototype, while the species is given multiple ecological identities. Its larvae are modeled after the Black Soldier Fly, or BSF, functioning as low-level decomposers that accelerate the natural cycle of matter. In adulthood, however, they transform into ambush predators similar to bird-eating spiders. By spanning both ends of the food chain, this species becomes both an ender and a restarter within the cycle of nature.

■ Background Setting：

This species is often found around animal remains, and its life cycle is closely tied to humus-rich environments. From the larval to subadult stages, individuals display a strong tendency toward social cooperation. Because the tail section of each individual is mostly composed of fragile soft tissue, larvae work together to attach collected bones to one another’s tails. Through this behavior, they construct a bone-like exoskeleton that functions as both defense and intimidation, continuously reinforcing and expanding this armor as they grow. Upon reaching maturity, individuals develop wings for long-distance movement. Drawn by the odor of decomposition from animal remains, they gather in groups and perform a reproductive ritual similar to the nuptial flight of ants. After mating, they immediately shed their wings and return to the ground to live independently. Adult individuals often hide high among the trees, transforming into predators. With excellent climbing ability and powerful mandibles capable of extreme biting force, they lie in wait within the shadows and ambush small birds. This forms a complete ecological progression, shifting from cooperative defense during youth to independent predation in adulthood.
